About Me

My dream of making a difference in the world of medicine led me on a transformative journey that resulted in me becoming a nephrologist. After completing my MBBS from Karnatak University in India, I pursued my MD at Safdarjang Hospital, where I gained invaluable clinical experience. My desire to specialize led me to the UK, where I earned my MRCP in Nephrology.
Working in the UK was an eye-opener, particularly during my time at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. There, I encountered diverse cases that strengthened my diagnostic skills and taught me the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach in Nephrology.
I learned not just from books and protocols but from patients, colleagues, and mentors. These experiences made me keenly aware of how preventive nephrology and interventional procedures could transform patient outcomes, especially for those with chronic kidney disease.
In 2013, I returned to India, driven by a vision to bring the advanced practices I had learned back to my homeland. Joining Narayana Hrudayalaya as a Consultant Nephrologist allowed me to make that dream a reality. Alongside an inspiring team, I established a dedicated nephrology procedure room where we perform complex procedures, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertions.
Witnessing the direct impact of these initiatives on reducing patient wait times and improving care outcomes has been incredibly fulfilling.
Today, my journey feels both accomplished and just beginning. My goal remains to advance nephrology through research, clinical governance, and innovative practices. Each day, I strive to build a program that combines preventive measures with cutting-edge interventional techniques, hoping to leave a legacy that inspires others and significantly improves the lives of renal patients.
